OxyContin OP 40 mg (OP 40 Pill) is a narcotic pain reliever that was initially approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 1982. It is a reformulated medicine in which its old form (OC pill) was replaced by a new variant of OxyContin OP to avoid the use of subcutaneous injection.

The function of Yellow OxyContin OP 40 mg Drug
The exact mechanism of its analgesic effect is not known yet, however, its mechanism is similar to morphine. There are opioid receptors in the central nervous system (the brain and the spinal cord) so OP 40 mg is selectively binding with the mu-receptor which induces a G-protein coupled receptor signaling pathway to inhibit pain.
Side Effects of Using OP 40 Pill
Common side effects are decreased appetite, dry mouth, fatigue (tiredness) abdominal pain, etc. Severe side effects are serious allergic reactions, itching, trouble breathing, rashes, swelling in the face and tongue, etc.
Note: It is a new form of OC pill that is not easy to crush and cannot dissolve in liquid (water) which converts into a thick form of gel. It is designed in such a way as to prevent its use in injection form.
